Untitled (2020)

Written over the course of 2019 and 2020, mostly inside night and early morning.

Instrumentation: Organ, String Quintet, Grand Piano, Keyboards, Moog, Harmonium, Delay-ridden lap steel played with a screwdriver, Various drums and cymbals, Kalimba, Paul-stretched Choir, and other things forgotten. Part of the collective instrumentation was then re-amped through various guitar pedals and sent back into the computer with the many hours of help from Riley Marion.

Empyrean OST (2017)

This is a selection of the 18 tracks written by Jung People (Bryan Buss, Jordan Bassi, Darren Young, Riley Marion) for the film Empyrean, directed by Thomas Robert Lee and released in 2017.


99% of the instrumentation is authentically performed by musicians, including a choir, a string quintet, and including performances on Hammond B3 organ, grand piano, mellotron, fender rhodes, wurlitzer electric pianos, french horn, trumpet, nylon string guitar, and delay-ridden guitar loops.

The film debuted at CIFF, and the score went on win Best Original Score at the 2016 AMPIA's.

Dead Weight (Short) OST (2018)

Here are the cues written for the short film Dead Weight in the fall of 2018. The film was written and Directed by Cody Ray Thompson, and is a Dark Comedy. The score is inspired by Cambodian Surf Rock, more specifically, the artist Pan Ron. The instrumentation is 100% authentic, and was all self recorded and performed by Bryan Buss. You will hear a 1950’s Carlton drum-kit holding down 4 layers of percussion, including Pan-Asian influenced log drum and bongos, tambourine, bells, as well as surf rock instruments, such as delay-ridden guitar, bass VI, Hammond organ M3, and other various instruments laying around the studio.
